Oliver

Tusk Mountain

Formed in the cold winter of 2008, Tusk Mountain delivers a high-energy breed of dark folk music and electric driven rock 'n' roll. For years, cousins Travis Eek and Michael Szalay had ran parallel through music and eventually their tracks joined in a collaboration that would prove true to their Canadian country roots. With the addition of drummer Carson Ruhland, the trio set out to create an original sound of smooth acoustic guitars and bone chilling lyrics. With the howling roars from Travis' guitar amp, along with the crying sounds of Carson's harmonicas and the rough cries of Mike's singing, the band created an original blend of musicianship that was unheard of in their local music scene. Since forming, they have went on to write a head full of original material (to be recorded summer 2010) and have gained praise from audiences for their high-energy, sing-along sets at many local venues up and down the Okanagan Valley.

Run Rabbit Run

Amongst the arid, rocky hills of Canada’s wild west, Oliver rests lazily in the deep south of the Okanagan desert wine valley. It is here, in 2008, that Run Rabbit Run was formed. By 2009 the band members became set as Jared Yackel, and brothers Sid and Carson Ruhland. Sharing inspiration from the legends of blues, rock, and folk, these three souls stumbled upon a common plane of musical thought, with an aim to explore the depths of rhythmic art and expose their crafted melody murals to wanting ears. Run Rabbit Run and fellow Oliver musicians, Tusk Mountain, make a home in the shed, as it is called, where the jams are manifest and bare-bones recording can document the creations.
